About Austin

Austin Gaboriau (gab-Oreo) is a registered piano technician (RPT) servicing pianos in the Columbia/Midlands area of South Carolina. While at USC earning his undergraduate, masters, and doctoral degrees in music performance, Austin trained in the art of tuning, regulating, voicing, and repairing pianos. His 6 years of experience working in the USC Piano Shop with Randy Rentz and Paul Williams shaped Austin into a skilled piano tuner. In 2019, 2022, 2024, and 2025, Austin traveled to the Steinway factory in New York where he completed the factory provided "Regulation and Touch," "Voicing and Tone Building," and "Damper Installation" Seminars and well as training to service Spirio Steinway player pianos. Austin has also been an active member of the Piano Technician's Guild since 2017 through which he continues to refine his skills. He has been offering quality services for the past 10+ years while continuing to grow his business through exceptional workmanship and competitive pricing.

Austin currently services pianos at the University of South Carolina, Newberry College, Allen University, the Columbia Arts Academy, Lexington School of Music, and Irmo Music Academy.
